Shipping Instructions for Clients in the U.S.A.:
In order to maintain the efficiency and affordability of our
relationship with Airborne Express, we would appreciate it if
you would run through this checklist of "Do's and Don'ts"
to make sure that your valuable specimens are being properly
prepared for shipment.
DO:
-
Declare the
"value for customs" of your shipment at $5.
-
Check off the "Charges to Receiver" box on the
courier waybill (otherwise, they will send the bill to YOU!).
-
Use the plastic "zip-loc" pouches that we supply, being
sure to put the
submission form
in the side pouch instead of in with the specimen bottle
(which, if it leaks, can destroy the form and all of the
necessary identification).
-
Identify the contents of your package as something vague like
"laboratory sample" or "diagnostic specimen".
DON'T:
-
Do not indicate a package weight of
more than 1 pound.
-
Do not indicate Saturday delivery.
-
Do not indicate hazardous material, formalin, biological
specimen, or animal tissue.
-
Do not use cardboard envelopes. They are
less durable, more expensive, and no faster. The plastic Airborne
ExpressPacks (available from Airborne Express)
are greatly preferred.
